I spent all day doing some odd jobs around the house and also waxing the RDX. Mrs CDD spend the day on a backroading adventure with friends looking for Sasquatch. Back at home she says... .”oooh yeah, may have taken a bit narrow trail...hopefully they’ll buff out..”. No, dear. But that’s ok...that’s what the Jeep is for. Did you have fun? “Hell yeah!”
RDX turned out good though...
Mothers California pre-wax cleaner/polish topped with Mothers Cleaner/sealer Wax. First time using the orbital that I’ve owned for probably ten years but never bothered to use. Wow what a game changer.

I hope that scratch is actually mud. Shoulda gone doors off. Then you'd only have an entire interior to clean I stead of breaking out the touch up paint.

Semi-related.
My MR2 is very unsvended at the moment. I took it out to the country so I could do a big run, it got rained in a bit and there was a bit of wheelspin on mud tracks. It’s got mud up the side of it.
It’s no Jeep but I do like the idea that I use the car to go cool places on the weekends, whether it’s looking pretty or not.
It’s dirty and it feels good.

Oh no...they’re fingernail deep. Also, for some reason Jeep uses a white primer under about a .003” thick top coat so everything shows.

Yikes. What's the plan? Ignore, touch up, or door respray? I admire your patience and self control with dealing with that.

Eh, what are ya gonna do? I’d be pissed if that was from a shopping cart but I can’t get too worked up about it when it happened in its natural environment. Not sure what we’ll do yet. May try the old touch up and buff trick...see how that goes first.

Those ain’t buffing out, but a Jeep doing Jeep things is good.
You're very brave for buying a black car but it certainly looks flawless

I agree...we’ve owned it since new and it doesn’t owe us anything.
Acura really nailed this color. It’s a metallic black that holds up to any high end black I’ve seen. Spinal Tap would even approve.

Getting a car dirty is fun.

Just keep it covered in mud, seems like a good plan.

My Mustang is pretty unSvended as well. I just got out of my funk enough to swap the winter and summer tires this weekend (ugh).
Maybe next week I’ll break out the dual action polisher and get some cleaning done.
Jeep doing Jeep things is good! Acura in black looking good.

That is a good way to look at it. At least it was from offroading a Jeep, something not many can say they’ve done, instead of an inattentive Karen at the supermarket.

How do you like your RDX? Looks like an A-spec to me

It’s grown on me. I’m coming off of a TLX and a TL before that. I miss having a sedan but I didn’t want the same interior since 2011 again. The new Acura interior design is very good and I’ve grown to like the infotainment unit. The 2L turbo and 9 speed is an upgrade in performance over the v6...way more torque and acceleration. It’s dumb that you couldn’t get the adaptive suspension on the A-Spec....you know, the sporty one?? All in all, what’s not to like really.
